Say Cheese.............

Wow...It's been awhile since I've blogged !?! Lord knows I have PLENTY of topics and things to blog about too!!
So today I'm yappin about something I love...Photographing Beautiful people.
Capturing sweet expressions that will be forever imprinted on paper, Oh be still my heart...

I'm in love with the fact that you can photograph a cranky baby and all the while, still capturing something worth keeping for his/her lifetime.

From that to the ever so lovely sleeping infant.  The sleeping infant that you could stare at for hours and it never get old.

And then there is the oh so Confident, "I can Conquer the World" Senior.  Man, oh man, If I don't love to shoot Senior portraits!!  They have their whole lives ahead of them,  have nothing figured out, and their are super excited about it!  Oh to be young again...

And to be the one that is hand picked to personally capture LOVE.  Love at it's greatest moment.  When it's new and exciting.  When Love is at it's finest hour...

Forgetting not the families, big and small.  The families that steal my heart.  That leave an everlasting impression in me.  That teach me that every family clicks in their own unique way.  I have a lot to learn from them.

And last but not least, Sibling Rivalry!  I love kids. (must be the reason I gave birth to 5 whole little beings!!) They are so innocent, well some of them are...  They are so creative and free.  They are so quick to forgive and also quick to leap before they think. =)  Kids are wonderful and funny and so full of life.

I'm so thankful today for the families that allow me into their lives.  Thank you to all my clients, past and present (and future).  I could not have asked for a better talent and profession.

Year after Year, I'm thankful.  Truly, sincerely thankful.
                                                                             Love, Sasha

The dreaded call from the school......

Ok, after much deliberation, I've decided to Go ahead and blog about Kale (my 11yr old, but was 10 at the time this took place) and a little "altercation" at school...normally I wouldn't, but this one will be the exception.

10:15am...
The phone rings. I assume it's one of my forgetful children needing me to bring them their unfinished homework. Not so much. It's the principle. First words out of his mouth..."Mrs. McCracken, I'm calling about Kale." (I quietly, to myself, bow my head and ask the Lord for more patience and for more will power to not cause him bodily harm...). He proceeds to tell me that he has had some boys in his office that morning for mistreating some girls at school. (oh Lord, help me....cuz I'm gonna KILL HIM!). My only reply at that point was..."you have got to be kidding me!"...he stops me and says "it wasn't Kale". (WHEW, he WILL live to see another day). He then goes on to tell me that he had to remove Kale from a "relationship". (I'm not gonna lie...I cracked up at this point.) Evidently, Kale was "going out" with a girl in his class and there were other girls in the class that said that they like him more. (again, I LOL'd -as did the principle). The principle went on about how he got to the bottom of it and that he was proud of Kale because he was the one that was sticking up for the girls. (there were other boys in the class that were calling the girls bad names). The principle told me he was impressed with the way Kale handled the situation and felt he should call me and let me know that Kale had been in the office that day but that all was well. I thanked him for calling and that was it.

3:30p.m.
Kale walks in the door. As he's having a snack I asked him how his day was. He replies "fine". (wow, typical male...) I, unsatisfied with his response, asked him..."what happened in the principles office today Kale"? His eyes were as big as silver dollars, and the look on his face was screaming "how did you know"? As he tried so hard to explain, he finally gave up. He looked so defeated. I could tell he was confused about the happenings that morning. And in the saddest voice ever, he says: "I don't know!...the principle said I was caught in the middle of a Love Triangle?? And Mom, I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT THAT IS!!! Followed by silence....
Oh My...my heart melted. I died and went to heaven that exact moment. It was the cutest, funniest thing ever to come out of his mouth, yet at the same time I felt so bad for him. Lol.
We had a small heart to heart that day. The just of it was this. He now knows what a love triangle is...I explained it, in detail. He won't date until he's old enough to drive and that he's only dating girls from church. Lol, gotta give it to him...that's a decent place to start. Lol.

3:40pm
I called Kevin in hysterical laughter and told him the whole story. (after Kale went outside to play of course ;)

7:00pm
Kevin comes home. "Kale, what's this I hear about a love triangle"?
Kale, without skipping a beat, replies: "ummm....more like a Love Quadrangle...it was between me and 3 girls".
SERIOUSLY....Kevin and I laughed FOREVER! We still crack up when we talk about it.

Kids are awesome! They can make the cruddiset day awesome in a matter of minutes.

Raising Self Sufficient Children.....

So, yesterday was a great day.  I shopped. =),  I sorta looked for a new vehicle. =)

And then 3:30 arrived.

That is when all of my sweet, loving, enjoyable maniacs get home from school.  By dinner time...My good mood was gone and my mood was now the kind where steam shoots out your nose and ears.  As I tried to analyze myself and my attitude...I had my problem pegged in about 15 seconds...I was soooo sick of hearing my own voice.  Everything I said...it echo'd......Pick that up (pick that up),  Put that where it goes (put that where it goes),  Why are your shoes are in the middle of my living room floor, (why are your shoes in the middle of my living room floor).  Stop hitting your brother with that rubber chicken (stop hitting your .... you get my drift?)  Annoying isn't it!

So, a quick secret meeting with the hubster and IT'S ON LIKE DONKEY KONG!

My kids have always done things around here.  Putting up their own laundry.  Cleaning their own bedrooms, etc.  But never in a set order or in an organized manner.

UNTIL NOW.  =)

Oh, be afraid little children...be very afraid.

So, today is the start of a new lifestyle.  The phrase "Raising Self Sufficient Children" has never sounded so glorious.   Move over Chaos....here comes your cousin, Organized Chaos.  Laminated Notecards and all.
Ok, Ok....so the laminating will come tomorrow.  But the notecards are in place.  Baby Steps Sash, Baby Steps.

A Place to Rant and Rave.

So, in my already busy life...I've decided to add this "Guess What" Blog thingy.  Brilliant, right?!  In my own defense...I can handle it!  But, I like to rant & rave and I like to type so a blog is the obvious choice.  You're Welcome.  =)  I have alot of things I like to dabble in and i've always got my hands in something new.   I like trying new things and I like learning to do the things that I suck at better.   So i'll probably be using this blog as a "Place to Rant and Rave" about them all.  Lucky you.  But I'll be upfront and honest...this blog will generally be a whole lot about nothing, with the possibility of a few somethings in between.  So today is your first "About NOTHING".  You're Welcome again.   Until next time....Sash
